Daddy was gone this week again for work. But today he got back. Yay! And OF COURSE we have ANOTHER airplane ordeal... He was delayed AGAIN (surprise) and they put them on the plane and took them off AGAIN. This time it was it was in DFW with AA, instead of in Houston with Continental. Different problems, different airline, but much better than the horrific delay in Houston last time (around the time we were trying to close on a house)... We went to pick him up today also - so that's not so fun b/c then our schedule gets delayed - Hannah's nap schedule that is.
We had lots of fun with Addison & Anika today and yesterday. Rebecca was nice enough to have us over both days. Hannah loves to ride in Ryan's police car and swing on the swings. She's had a lot of play time at various parks these two days. Yesterday we also visited the park across from the church, and today we were at the park across from the library (we skipped storytime).
It was much better than Monday & Tuesday being cooped up at home b/c mommy was working on stuff. She did go outside at bit those days. Since we still don't have sod in the backyard, she doesn't get to do much b/c mommy doesn't want her eating dirt or picking at the vegetable garden. When we let her in the backyard, she usually makes a beeline for the row of tomatoes and wants to pick them and pop 'em in her mouth - whether ripe or not.
She LOVES being outside - what kid doesn't?

Molars & quick Hannah update
Her molars are coming in. She started drooling everywhere yesterday. Her nose is super runny (as of last Thursday) don't know if it's allergies, the teething, or a virus. But it's clear - so no matter!
She loves playing with the hairbrush. She made up the sign herself to brush her hair. She also does the sign for brushing her teeth by sticking her finger in her mouth and shaking her head back and forth. It's cute. She threw her toothbrush in the toilet a few weeks ago. YUK! She's made up lots of signs - sometimes I don't know what they are, sometimes I do. She started doing the sign for "cat" last week sometime (Friday?) I've been trying to teach it to her and repeating it and I finally saw her do it while pointing to a cat picture. so exciting!
She says "duck" a lot. But the "-ck" is cut a bit short. She carries around these little nesting ducks I got for her a few weeks ago. She knows the word and will go get the ducks when I ask her to. I know she says other stuff but I can't think of what right now. She understands a whole lot and follows a lot of directions.
People have referred to her "wave" as the parade princess wave. It's cute b/c it's a wrist motion.
So her EC has goods and bads. She poops very well on the toilet, but I've not been as vigilant, so she mostly already peed in her diaper by the time I get around to taking her to the toilet. And she hasn't been peeing in the toilet very much or been willing. THOUGH this morning, I checked her upon 1st waking & nursing. Her diaper was dry! So I nursed on one side, and then took her to the potty, and she had a nice long pee on the toilet! She did fight me a bit b/c she still wanted to nurse.
I'm behind on posting...what's new? We've been busy. I will do a better catch up post as to what we've been doing soon! We have lots of photos & videos...

Ever learning
Because I don't get to spend as much time at home, I am always a little behind what DW is teaching Hannah. But I thought it would be good to write some more of the cute signs that Hannah does to communicate. Tonight as we were preparing for bed and saying our prayers. Hannah interlocked her little hands in the sign for prayer...so cute. Then we said sleep, and she put her hand on the side of her face in the attempt to do the sleep sign. :)
She has become very proficient at using her signs (and making up some of her own.) Her most used sign besides pointing and grunting is "eat." She made up a sign similar to eat for "drink" and she tilts her head back. She knows "bath" and starts running to the bathroom (until she gets distracted by something else.)
"Done" instead of the very control sign similar to "safe" in baseball when Hannah-ized is flailing her arms around until we notice.
Of course there are signs that we have taught her but she refuses to use. The signs for going to the bathroom she knows very well, but won't tell us when she has to go...stinker.
She knows lots of words for things we haven't taught her signs for, words like shoes, pants, and outside.
Wow she is learning quickly, I wonder to myself why I don't learn as quickly. I had a friend tell me that children have a blank memory drive, so it is easy to find room on their "hard disk" but as you get older, you fill up your "hard disk" and can upload new things anymore. :) Whatever it is it still love Hannah.
