about photos...

And to our loyal blog readers...sorry no Hannah photos recently...

but as dh has historically said about ppl's kids/scrapbooks and photos: "here's a photo of so-and-so standing by this wall. and here's this photo of so-and-s0 by the grass. and here's a photo of so-and-so in the kitchen. and oh another photo of so-and-so outside."

Not that we don't think Hannah's adorable. As her parents we think she's the cutest thing around! Not that we're biased or anything. We get to look at her everyday...and as her mother, I love taking photos of her...and photos in general.

I've been taking lots of photos. Just haven't uploaded and posted them - of Hannah that is.

So here's the link to the photos I have been posting.

I will get around to updating Hannah's photos...sometime this year... Since she IS my most photographed model. :)

Fascination with shoes

So as of right now...this instant, she's wearing my house slippers and flopping around the house. she started in the foyer, went into the living room and now she's in the kitchen. It's rather cute. AND she's squeezing into the wall between the water cooler and the wall. Another one of her favorite pasttimes.

Like any other female, this girl likes shoes. She likes all kinds of shoes. She's rather good at wanting to put them on. We've trained her to know that she needs to put on shoes before she can go outside (there are still construction nails and stuff in our yard). Sometimes, she'll bring us a shoe to let us know, she wants to put on shoes and go outside. "shhu" is also one of her 1st words.

Sadly, she also still likes to chew on her shoes. One of her white foam sandals even have teeth marks on them at the toe area. But she's getting better at not chewing. We shake our heads for things she's not supposed to do. She's pretty good at complying. She also has learned to shake her head for things she doesn't want.

Tooth #11

So molar #3 (her upper left) broke through around a week ago, and now it's rather white & useful to her for mashing I figure. I meant to post...but didn't get around to it.

Yes I'm now consistently a neglectful non-daily blogger.

But now the fussy needy mornings are over. And the fussy days and nights. Yay! When those molars were coming in...she was very difficult to care for.

She woke up and couldn't get to bed last week...one random night around midnight. Woke up screaming and screaming. I nursed her and just held her until she fell back asleep an hour later.

She likes to "brush her teeth" or chew on her toothbrush. We're now on toothbrush #2, since she threw toothbrush #1 into the toilet (don't want to use that one again).

I still mainly use a baby washcloth for her oral hygeine though...fast and easy.

Our 1st Family Bike Ride

was Monday night. It was lots of fun! The coastal breeze was blowing in our hair, and Hannah was a as mellow as can be behind daddy. She was looking around and would look at me - totally chill. I found a great deal on a baby backpack carrier (Kelty K.I.D.S. Wanderer) on Sat and so we used it for the bike ride. Daddy had Hannah on his back and we even got her a baby bike helmet. Too bad I didn't take a photo...we'll get one and I'll eventually post it (when i get around to posting photos).

I'd forgotten how much I enjoy biking. We went trailbiking when we were dating, but haven't rode bikes together in a long while for many reasons. (mommy's bike was always at Ah-ma & Ah-gong's when we were in OK, and then daddy's bike got stolen right before we moved to TX. So since we've lived in TX, we haven't biked.) But now we have two bikes again (thanks to Eric - who we're "bike-sitting" for while he's deployed overseas).

Tooth #10

So her 2nd molar broke through sometime last week. It's on her bottom left...our right.

I know I should post more interesting things... I'll eventually get around to it...my brain has been all jumbled up recently...tons of stuff on my plate...

She's driving me CRAZY!

I don't know what's up with her but she's been super fussy the past 3 days and today my patience is almost gone. She's clingy and needy and I can't figure out what she wants. She's picky about eating and drinking and all she wants is to be held, but then she's wiggly, and wants down. ARRGGGGHHHH!

Save me from this insanity!

Tooth #9

It's usually a fight to clean her teeth...whether with a washcloth or by brushing...

Last night, I stuck my finger in her mouth without the washcloth and felt another tooth...to my surprise! Last week or two...I know she'd been teething and her gums were swollen a bit and I knew that her molars had been in the process of coming in.

It's a top molar on her right (my left).

Bean...in her ear

We made black-eyed peas today, and she loves them. Hannah loves peas, beans of all kinds. She happily gobbles them up. Well, she decided to stick one in her right ear. I thought daddy was able to keep most of it out. But here I am...nursing her. I look down at her, and there's a round piece of bean in her ear. I get it out, clean off the little bits and pieces stuck here and there. It's sticky stuff...beans that have been pressure cooked to softness.

Buckles and Latches

She's been messing around with anything that buckles and latches for the past few weeks. Her favorite is her booster seat (set on the floor) that she eats in. She'll sit in it for a long time after finishing her food & the tray is removed, and mess with the buckle. The past few days, she figured out how to buckle. Today she's just figured out how to buckle both sides in all on her own! The only thing is that she doesn't know how to unbuckle so then lots of fussing ensues, until I unbuckle her, and then whole fiasco starts all over again. She buckles herself in...I have to unbuckle her...so that she can buckle herself in all again.

When she's hungry and she wants to eat, she'll sit herself in her seat and let us know she wants food. She's been pulling the tray closed herself too. Othertimes, we find her in the seat playing with the buckles.
